Automotive Connectivity Solutions
Where Connectivity Meets Serious Savings, Reliability, and Scale
Custom automotive connectivity solutions from EdgeBeam provide over-the-air (OTA) updates GPS corrections, and backseat entertainment efficiently, reliably, and at a fraction of the cost. Our one-to-many layer sends the same data to millions of vehicles at once, cutting delivery costs while unlocking new revenue streams.
Benefits
Send Data to Every Vehicle at Once (And Spend Less Doing It)
As vehicles become more software‑defined, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are being asked to send the same software, maps, and content to more vehicles, more often. One‑to‑one delivery struggles to keep up, leading to staggered rollouts, congested networks, and rising OTA costs.
EdgeBeam’s custom automotive connectivity solutions add a one‑to‑many distribution layer that works alongside existing cellular and satellite connectivity to send shared data to entire fleets at once, instantaneously. From software updates, GPS corrections, to in-vehicle entertainment, EdgeBeam supports reliable automotive connectivity that eliminates redundant transmissions in the last mile. OEMs get faster, more reliable OTA delivery at a fraction of the cost, while unlocking new revenue streams through services like live streaming, enhanced global positioning systems (eGPS), and high‑fidelity audio.
Scale Updates Without Scaling Costs
Deliver one update to every vehicle at once to speed rollouts and cut OTA costs.
Feed Safety Systems Precise Location Data
Equip every vehicle with reliable, centimeter-level location accuracy for critical safety systems.
Unlock New Revenue Streams
Use the same efficient, cost-effective delivery layer to power premium in‑vehicle services.
Keep Your Systems. Upgrade Your Delivery.
In the illustrated example, EdgeBeam’s custom automotive connectivity solution plugs into your existing OTA stack to deliver shared updates more efficiently. OEMs keep their current tools and workflows, while our one‑to‑many distribution layer handles model-, inventory-, or fleet‑wide delivery at scale.
Use Cases
OTA Updates and In‑Car Experiences at Scale
Discover how EdgeBeam’s custom automotive connectivity solutions power three different use cases: OTA software and firmware updates, precise GPS and ADAS data, and rich alerts and entertainment experiences.
OTA Updates to Software and Firmware
Modern vehicles are increasingly software‑defined, with OEMs shipping larger, more frequent updates across growing fleets. Delivering those updates one vehicle at a time leads to staggered rollouts, congested networks, and staggering per‑vehicle delivery costs.
Powered by an ATSC 3.0 broadcast layer, EdgeBeam adds a one‑to‑many distribution layer so shared software and firmware packages reach entire fleets in a single pass, alongside existing cellular connectivity. OEMs can hit rollout timelines, reduce OTA spend, and keep every vehicle aligned on the latest features and fixes.

GPS and ADAS
Modern advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) depend on precise, timely location data that’s consistent across every equipped vehicle. But as fleets scale, pushing the same precise location data (such as shared location data or RTK corrections) one‑to‑one becomes inefficient and unreliable, especially in dense or challenging environments.
Built on the ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard, EdgeBeam’s one‑to‑many distribution layer delivers shared location and correction data to large fleets simultaneously, even when vehicles are moving. OEMs benefit from centimeter‑level GPS performance, improved ADAS reliability, and a consistent view across millions of vehicles without overloading existing networks.

Alerts and Entertainment
Drivers expect richer in‑vehicle experiences, from live and local content to timely safety alerts. Delivering the same content over one‑to‑one networks quickly becomes expensive and can strain bandwidth just when reliability matters most.
Using an ATSC 3.0‑based broadcast layer, EdgeBeam delivers shared media, infotainment, and alerting data one‑to‑many, reaching many vehicles at once instead of connection by connection. OEMs can offer premium services like live streaming and high‑fidelity audio, support critical alerts, and open new revenue streams while keeping delivery efficient and cost‑effective.

Devices
Designed for Automotive. Powered by EdgeBeam.
EdgeBeam partners with leading manufacturers to enable ATSC 3.0‑ready automotive devices that run our software and deliver our service. These devices bring broadcast connectivity into the vehicle and the broader ecosystem, supporting use cases like OTA updates, precise GPS and ADAS data, and rich in‑car experiences under a single, cohesive, custom solution.
By working with multiple trusted vendors rather than selling hardware ourselves, we give OEMs flexibility to choose the right mix of in‑vehicle, roadside, and backend devices while still benefiting from a unified, broadcast‑driven solution layer.

ATSC 3.0 reception can be added as a receiver component that delivers data over internet protocol (IP) into the vehicle, then processed by existing software much like data arriving over cellular into the telematics control unit (TCU).
EdgeBeam supports both factory-installed and aftermarket approaches: ATSC 3.0 can be built into new platforms or added via external hardware that ties into the existing vehicle electronics and software.
Cellular is the typical return path. While broadcast is leveraged for downlink, EdgeBeam uses application programming interfaces (APIs) so vehicles can send receipt acknowledgments and other data via cellular uplink. The use of APIs accommodates most existing OEM workflows.
EdgeBeam’s automotive solutions are designed to fit into OEMs’ existing security models, treating broadcast as a protected delivery path rather than an open pipe. OTA packages are encrypted, signed, and validated by the vehicle before installation, and our platform integrates with standard key and certificate management so OEMs stay in control of who can send what to their fleets
